How to write a Turkish address

Famous for being the home to one of the worst gifts in history (see the "Odyssey" and "Trojan Horse"), Turkey is filled with gorgeous buildings such as the Blue Mosque, the Topkapi Palace, and Hagia Sophia. But how do you address a letter to Turkey? As you wander through the famous Turkish baths, take a look at our Turkish address examples address examples and try our suite of address validation tools for addresses in Turkey below.

Simply enter an address to format, standardize, and validate it faster than you can say “Merhaba.” Address formatting in Turkey isn't rocket science and can be written out as follows:

  1. Addressee line - The recipient's full name, using appropriate titles for the region.
  2. Local area - This is the town, village, or part of a city the address is in.
  3. Street and building number - List the street and then the building number with nothing but a space between them.
  4. Postal Code, Locality and Administrative area - List the postal code, followed by the general locality and administrative area, similar to a county and state.
  5. Country - This is often shortened to TUR.
