How to write a Hong Kong address
Thanks to Hong Kong’s martial arts films, you have Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee, and Jet Li. But now you’re wondering how to write to Hong Kong addresses to thank them! You can take a jet and hop in a red taxi to thank them in person, or you can spare the charge to your Octopus card and browse our Hong Kong address examples here. Also, don’t forget to try our suite of address validation tools for addresses in Hong Kong. Just enter an address, and we'll format, standardize, and validate the address faster than you say “M goi” (please and thank you).
Let’s explore some of the basics. Hong Kong’s address format for shipping or mailing messages should be written this way:
- Addressee line - The recipient's full name, using appropriate titles like "先生" (Mr.) or for women, their full name followed by "女士" (Mrs.).
- SubBuilding, building name - The sub-building name goes here with a comma, followed by the building name. They should be included in that order.
- The house number and street name - Include the house number and street name without separating punctuation.
- Dependant locality - On a new line, write the dependent locality, if applicable.
- Locality and administrative area - Again, on a new line, include the locality followed by the administrative area without any separating punctuation.
- Country - Write "HKG" in all caps on the last line.
