How to write a Swedish address
Hej! Let’s take a “fika” (coffee break) from whatever you’re up to and take a peek at Sweden’s address format. You can listen to any of ABBA’s wonderful tunes while excitedly browsing our Swedish address format examples here and while you try our suite of address validation tools for addresses in Sweden below. Just enter an address, and we'll format, standardize, and validate the address faster than you can say, “IKEA.”
Let’s explore some of the generalities of Swedish addresses. We’ll even provide you with a Swedish postal address example. Sweden’s address format for shipping or mailing addresses should be written as follows:
- Addressee line - The recipient's full name. Who are you sending things to?
- Street name and house or building number - The street name followed by the house number or building number goes on this line. These should be included in that order and without separating punctuation.
- Postal code and city - The postal code and the city go on the next line. No separating punctuation is necessary.
- Country - Write “SWE” in all caps on the last line.
