Egypt address format & examples

How to write an Egyptian address

Sure, it has pyramids and camels, but did you know that Egypt has the oldest surviving garment in the world? It's called the Tarkhan Dress and is believed to be over 5,000 years old! If you wanted to mail a much newer dress to a friend in Egypt, you'd need to know how to address a letter to Egypt. Here’s an Egyptian address example. We also provided tools for you to learn more about Egypt’s address format, and to help validate any address in the world.

Smarty is the best source for gold-standard location data. Simply enter any Egyptian address and get it returned formatted, standardized, and validated faster than you can postmark a letter. Address formatting in Egypt can be written out as follows:

  1. Addressee line -The recipient's full name, using appropriate titles for the region and occassion.
  2. Building number and street - List the building number and then the street without any separating punctuation.
  3. Dependent street - Some addresses will have a secondary or dependent street that goes on its own line.
  4. City - City the address is in.
  5. Governorate - The larger area the address is in - similar to a county.
  6. Postal code - The postal code goes on its own line.
  7. Country - This is often shortened to EGY.

What our customers are saying

A woman in blue activewear seated and posing, and a man in a light green shirt and yellow shorts jumping beside her, both in a peach-colored room.
We evaluated quite a few providers, and felt that Smarty was the right partner for us, given their user-friendly approach and robust support. It checked all of our boxes.
